Corey Grand has been a self proclaimed “Nas Aficionado” since he first got his hands on a copy of Illmatic, by purchasing a copy behind his mom’s back.
He connected most with the track “The World is Yours” listening to it and escaping with the music to the vivid picture Nas was painting.
Respect for the famed MC continued to grow as Nas’ catalog of releases grew. Corey Grand realized early that Nas had no qualms about addressing real life issues affecting himself and the masses.
Not only that but Nas spoke out about social, economical and worldwide injustice that Corey was learning about at the same time.
Nas was not only a favorite rapper but also a teacher who could connect on a different wave than typical educational figures.
Always in Corey’s plans once he became a DJ was to create a tribute album to help teach a new generation of Nas fans about his art, lessons and thoughts.
Making sure to represent of his idols properly, Corey Grand has compiled 30 plus tracks of b-sides, rarities, features and mixed them accordingly.
